Enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of friendship that comes with being a member

Members take great pride in our American Veterans Service Organization and are dedicated to supporting our Veterans and our community. Our Post welcomes both Veterans and non-Veterans to join our community.

Members at Post 79 have access to 10+ acres of waterfront property including a beach, private boat ramp, horse shoes, bocce, picnic, the rail trail and more. As a member you are also welcome to our private and affordable lakeside lounge (the Canteen) featuring a fully stocked cash bar and food service.

The Post memberships meeting is held on the second Tuesday of the Month

at 7 p.m. and we follow the Robert’s Rules of Order

Membership Fees

Veterans

$35 annually or Choice Lifetime

Starting on September 1, 2023, the lifetime membership dues is as follows:

Individuals aged 55 and below: $500

Individuals aged 56 to 65: $400

Individuals aged 66 and over: $300

To be eligible for membership in AMVETS, you must have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserves, any time after Sept. 15, 1940. Additionally, unless still serving, your discharge must have been under honorable conditions. If you served as an American citizen in the armed forces of an allied nation, under honorable conditions, between Sept. 15, 1940, and May 8, 1975, you are also eligible, as are wartime members of the Merchant Marine. Proof of eligibility can take the form of a DD-214, an honorable discharge certificate or other appropriate document.

Auxillary members

Spouses, children of, or grandchildren of Veterans are welcome to join either the “Sons of AMVETS” or the “Ladies Auxillary.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Both members of the Veteran and civilian community are invited to apply to become a member. Non-veterans, including spouses of, children of and grandchildren of Veterans, along with First Responders and civilians can join our “Patriot” Membership.

  • Members in good standing are welcome to bring a guest or two. Please do not abuse this policy. Members are responsible for their guests’ behavior. Any guest of our Post (adult or child) who is unruly, disruptive, offensive, or disobedient will be asked to leave. The Natick AMVETS Executive Board reserves the right to limit the number of guests members bring to our Post and also reserves the right to revoke your membership should you abuse our guest policy.
